Stump Removal & Grinding Services
Stump grinding is the fastest way to get rid of what a tree leaves behind, and Reclaim Land Services has been grinding and removing stumps for Dayton-area property owners since the company's early days in the lawn business. Whether it is one stump in a front yard or dozens across a lot we just cleared, the crew grinds below grade, backfills and leaves the spot ready for grass or the next stage of the project.
Complete stump removal is available too. When a building pad or driveway is going where the tree stood, we dig the stump and root ball out entirely, haul it away and compact the hole so nothing settles later.

Grind It or Dig It Out?
For lawns, fence lines and landscape beds, grinding is almost always the answer. It is quick, the ground is disturbed very little, and the area can be topsoiled and seeded right away. Full removal makes sense when the spot has to carry a load or when utilities or a drain line will run through it, because a rotting root ball under a slab or driveway eventually settles.
We handle both with our own equipment and haul the debris on our dump truck. Grinding pairs naturally with grading and leveling, and many customers have us finish the yard with topsoil in the same visit.

Stump Questions
What is the difference between grinding and removal?
Grinding chews the stump down below the surface and leaves the roots to decay. Removal digs out the whole stump and root ball. Grinding suits lawns; removal suits anything you will build or pave over.
How deep do you grind?
Deep enough below grade to topsoil and grow grass over it, deeper on request for planting or shallow utilities.
Can you remove many stumps after clearing?
Yes. Lot-scale stump work after clearing is routine and is usually quoted with the clearing itself.
What happens to the grindings?
They can stay as backfill and mulch, be raked into a pile for your use, or be hauled off.
